From the very first sentence, this was a book that demanded to be read. The pace was brisk and the action crisp. The three main characters were people that you cared about and delving into their lives was satisfying. There was a heavy undertone of Christian allegory, but I didn't find it unappealing as I sometimes do in this type of book. A dark descriptive book that will keep you yearning for more. Alemans descriptions are so well written that you feel like you are standing there experiencing it all first hand.
What would you do if your family was murdered? Aleman answerers that question brilliantly.
You're pulled into Laura's world of revenge and pain so easily that you cant help but feel sorry for her and you want her to get her revenge.

As I got into the book, it was really hard to put down. I really enjoyed this book.

This book was engaging all the way through. The different perspectives gave the story a depth that most authors don't touch. The story flies through flies along as a mother loses her family and follows a pull that leads her where she needs to go. The police are hot on her trail, hoping to get to the suspects before she does and trying to figure out how dangerous she is. Her only goal is to avenge her family and be reunited with them.
